Meet the team: Dimitar Kotev, Lead of Digital Shared Service Center CEE

Tell us about your career journey so far.
My career in e-commerce at first started as a hobby. I was dropshipping in eBay and doing that I realised that I wanted to work and gain knowledge in this field. Then I went through several positions of E-commerce manager where I was responsible for developing the e-comm business, most of the time starting from scratch.
What do you do as Lead of Digital Shared Service Center CEE?
My role involves managing a team of digital professionals, developing and implementing strategies and ensuring compliance and governance.
What makes the team you’re leading unique?
Each team member is valued for their unique talents and skills. Collectively, a diverse skill set, way of thinking, experiences, idea generation and problem solving helps to create an effective team and enhance results.
What are you most proud of when it comes to your work at Avon?
The people that I am working with. Their attitude, willingness to help, expertise and knowledge.
What is the most important career lesson you have learnt?
The ability to learn and adapt. By staying curious, keeping an open mind, and continually improving your skills and knowledge, you stay ahead of the curve and achieve your career goals.
What would you advise young people looking for a career in digital/e-commerce?
To invest efforts and time to develop their skills, to gain as much practical experience as they can, stay up-to-date with industry trends and be adaptable.
